I am not fond of resolutions, I definitely prefer to shot for New Year goals. There is one resolution I definitely have in mind that I have to keep.
My 2015 goals are
Get license before July 31st - I made a bet with a friend of mine that I need to get my license before the 31st of July and sure to enjoy a challenge.
Finally learn to ride a bike- I have been putting this off for the past couple of years and found a service that offers free lessons in NYC, there are no excuses.
Continue learning coding- I started taking the coding class on Khan Academy, took a few lessons back to back and that detracted me from continuing, mostly for the fact that I felt I learned a decent amount, the ideal goal is learn 1-4 lessons a week.
Learn to ski- I learned surfing in 2014 and snowboarding a couple of years ago. I decided it was best to pick something new to learn and experience.
Visit a new city- 2014 included two new city adventures Wrigley Field in Chicago and Fenway Park in Boston. It's time to continue visiting new cities and ballparks. I have been to DC but not Nationals Park and also went to Philadelphia but never went to a Phillies game. The goal is to visit PNC Park in Pittsburgh, and if it's even possible Seattle because the Mariners are becoming a better team and might even find a way to watch a Sounders game.
Go to a football game- I went to a soccer (Liverpool and Manchester City) and a hockey game (Canucks/Kings) before going to a football game in 2014. Ideally I would like to go to a football game that does not include any of the New York teams. I would like to visit New Orleans that way I can accomplish two goals at once.
Learn to ice skate- I go ice-skating about once a year and it's usually awful, I would like to finally get over the fear of falling and also learn how to stop because I think that's the main concern in my psyche.
Read more books than I did in 2014- I only completed two books over the course of this year- Think Like A Freak and Contagious. I downloaded a few ebooks and was given two books as a gift from my mom for my birthday. I feel three books is a low number to shoot for but I like to set this bar low and hope to at least double or triple my amount of 2014.
Return to blogging/writing- I'm taking two free writing courses, I didn't write as much as I should have once I stopped interning in March. Here's hoping I can shoot for one blog a week while also developing the script that I left in 2012.
If there is one resolution that I feel adamant about keeping is to drink less soda. I was 230 pounds in 2008 and promised never to go above the 200 pound mark again. I weighed myself today and saw that I was back to 202. I'm going to California in March so I plan to drop anywhere between 15-30 pounds by then and if not at least reach that mark by the beginning of the summer.
